2020 Jr. Rodeo Schedule

We will continue to update this list as new rodeos are added. You must be a member of Jr. Rodeo before entering. As a reminder, your Jr. Rodeo membership is good until December 31, 2020. We will send renewal emails starting at the beginning of December. 

The 2021 Cowboy Channel Jr. NFR will be taking place March 2-6 in Fort Worth, TX in conjunction with the American Rodeo. The number of entries per event per qualifier will determine how many will advance to the Jr. NFR. Each rodeo will advance a different number of contestants to the Jr. NFR. 

West Georgia Junior Rodeo Association - All entries will be handled through their organization by calling 706-618-4386. You may also email your "call-in" to rodeo@westgajrrodeo.com. Include the name of the participant, birth date (not age), events, and let them know if the participant is in the special needs division. **Call-in is from 6 PM until 9 PM (Eastern) on the dates listed below. For events and age divisions please visit https://westgajrrodeo.com/rodeo-eventsTop 10% of entries will advance to the Jr. NFR.

Late call-in fees will be incurred on email or phone calls after 9 PM on the call-in dates. Late call-ins will be accepted until noon on Sunday (after call-in). If you call in at any time but find that you will be unable to attend the rodeo, you must call out before the call-in period is over. If you fail to call-out before the call-in period is over (9 PM on the Thursday call-in date), it will be treated as a 'no show' and all fees will be incurred. westgajrrodeo.com

Entry Fees Per Rodeo

Grounds fee: $12.00 (once per rodeo per rider)

Entry Fee: $12.00 per event (Special Needs and Tiny Tot fees - $6.00)

Stock Fee: $15.00 per stock event (Steer wrestling & Roping)

$20 per stock event (bareback broncs, saddle broncs, or bull riding)

Late fee: $15.00 per rodeo if called in after call-in date/time

Non- WGJRA member fee: $20.00 per rodeo

Vernon West Memorial Roping Classic in Sweetwater, TX - This event will be for Breakaway and Tie-down Roping. Those who will be competing in the 19 & under and 15 & under age divisions will have the chance to qualify for the Jr. NFR. Mail in entries have already closed, but walk up entries will be accepted with a $25 late fee. 


May 30-31. 2020 starting at 9 AM. Each event will begin when the previous event concludes.

Entry Fees Per Rodeo

Entry Fee: $200.00 per event + $25.00 walk up late fee

Location: Nolan County Coliseum Facilities (West Covered Arena), 220 Coliseum Drive, Sweetwater, TX 79556 

Waller County Fair and ProRodeo Youth Roughstock Rodeo Series in Hempstead, TX - This rodeo series will be for Bull Riding, Bareback Riding and Saddle Bronc Riding. All entries will be through our Jr. Rodeo website and will open 2 weeks before each rodeo and will remain open for 1 week. There will be no late entries accepted unless entries are not full. Each event per age division will be limited to 15 entries. Age groups: 6-10, 11-13, 14-19 (age bracket will be the qualifying age for the Jr. NFR). Top 10% of entries will advance to the Jr. NFR.

*All performances will start at 7 PM sharp

If you are unable to attend the rodeo after you have entered you will need to email jrrodeo@prorodeo.com no later than 48 hours before the rodeo will begin. 

2nd Annual Spring Bull Bash in Thomas, OK - June 6th - This event will be for bull riding only. Those who are 14-19 years of age will be eligible to qualify for the Jr. NFR. Entries will be on-site only and the books will close at 5 pm with the event starting at 6 pm. Make sure to purchase your Jr. Rodeo membership before attending. Top 10% of entries will advance to the Jr. NFR.

Insurance Fee: $10.00

American Bull Riding Federation - All entries will be handled through text message with the Bad to the Bone Pro Rodeo company. They will be hosting a jackpot every Sunday at the Bad to the Bone Arena in Thackerville, OK. We will be qualifying the top place winner from the 15-19 age division to the long go of the 2021 Jr. NFR from each jackpot. Last jackpot will be taking place on October 25. We will also be qualifying the top 3 from the Bulls & Bands youth bull riding event June 20 in Shawnee, OK.

Ultimate Calf Roping in Graham, TX - June 30 - July 1 - This qualifier will be for the 19 & Under Tie-down and Breakaway. Must be a member of Jr. Rodeo on the day of competition to be eligible to qualify for the 2021 Jr. NFR.

Independence Day Shootout in McAlester, OK - July 4th - Flying H Ranch & Rodeo, Crenshaw Ranch, TH Cattle Company, & 4S Livestock Presents Junior Roughstock Independence Day Shootout in McAlester, OK. JUNIOR NFR QUALIFIER DETAILS

The Cowboy Channel Jr. NFR is a tournament-style format rodeo where qualifiers will compete in the long go-round with the top 15 contestants advancing to the Cowboy Channel Jr. NFR Semi-Finals. The Cowboy Channel Jr. NFR championship round will be held at AT&T Stadium with the top 6 place winners competing for the Cowboy Channel Jr. NFR title.

  • Contestants must be a member of Junior Rodeo. Membership cards can be purchased at  https://jrrodeo.org/join-us - Card numbers must be provided on this entry form.
  •  Junior NFR Qualifier events require an additional $10 insurance fee. If the contestant enters 3 or more events the insurance fee is $20.
  • Event List - Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Tie Down, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Breakaway
  • Age Groups- Timed Events: 19 and Under Rough Stock: 14-19

Because of Bailey in Las Vegas, NV - September 5th - Buckles and Barrels for Bailey is an annual charity barrel race held at the South Point Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, NV. Over the last nine years we have raised thousands of dollars and our event has grown and become more successful every year. We currently draw contestants from all over the West and we have done so with very little sponsorship. In 2019 we had over 800 contestants a day. Georgia Florida Youth Rodeo in Quitman, GA - September 12th -

The Top 10% in each age division will advance to the Jr NFR

Riding Events: Bull riding ages 15-19 only
Timed Events: Ages 19 and under

Timed Events: Tie-down roping; Steer Wrestling; Team Roping; Barrel Racing; and Breakaway Roping.

The top 10% in each division in the timed events will quality.

You do not have to be a member of the GFYR to compete; however you must be a member of the Jr NFR to be eligible to qualify.  Please see their website for membership information https://jrrodeo.org/join-us.  We will also have membership forms available.  Membership is $100 and is good for one calendar year.

Series Champion in each event will be invited to compete at the 100th Red Bluff Round-Up Thursday, April 15th, 2021.
